Cameron Webber is the young son of Elizabeth Webber & Zander Smith. Elizabeth and Zander had been friends as Zander had dated Elizabeth's best friend Emily. While nursing broken hearts...twice, in fact (hers from Jason & Ric; his both from Emily), the two found solace with each other. Ric and Elizabeth attempted a reconciliation and tried to get Zander to turn over his parental rights; he refused, leading to a rift in Zander and Elizabeth's friendship.

Presumed dead in the Port Charles Hotel fire, a Ric, Elizabeth, Nikolas and Emily all believed they had killed Zander. In reality, Zander had faked his death; the body found in the basement of the PC Hotel belonged to a PC Hotel employee. Zander eventually kidnapped Emily and distraught because he had lost her, Zander goaded the police into shooting him. Zander died from the injuries incurred in the shooting.

Ric and Elizabeth's marriage eventually fell apart for good and Elizabeth left Port Charles. While away, Elizabeth gave birth to her baby, naming him Cameron after Zander's father Cameron Lewis, a psychiatrist who had died in the PC Hotel fire. With the help of her grandmother Audrey, Elizabeth raised her adorable son while attending nursing school and becoming a nurse.

Elizabeth and her first love Lucky Spencer reconnected and fell back in love. Lucky became the father figure in Cameron's life, caring and loving Cameron as though he were his own son. Elizabeth and Lucky married and Lucky officially adopted Cameron.
